The Luella collection that took London Fashion Week by storm in September 2009 has filtrated through the upper echelons of fashionable society and elements of it are currently gracing the pages of boohoo.com.
Our favourite, at a startlingly low £20, this immaculate cut-out cocktail dress, has been recreated by the generous people behind the website with what can only be called some quite practical modifications.
Although the structured beauty of the original is undeniable, we can’t help but fall in love with the lighter and more flowing fabric of the boohoo copy which creates a softer silhouette, easier to pull off and let’s face it, it’s tough enough making your way through a crowded dance floor, let alone if your dress is two feet wide.
The trick here is to keep it simple a la Luella; minimal jewellery, understated clutch and a pair of knock-out heels and you’ve got yourself a party outfit, however; espadrilles, a headband, and over-sized bag and sunglasses and you’ve got yourself a prêt-a-porter garden party look. Enjoy.
