Proposed strike action scheduled for this Thursday by the UCU has been called off.
A joint agreement between the UCU (University and Colleges Union) and the University of Leeds has been reached.
In a statement, the UCU claims that their dispute with the University is also over. This was after recommendations
UCU general secretary, Sally Hunt, said: “We are really pleased with progress made today, and in the past few meetings. Thursday’s industrial action is off and the dispute is over. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the arbitration service ACAS for the part it played in helping negotiate an agreement without the need for industrial action.”
The wide-ranging agreement reached also covers the Faculty of Biological Sciences, where a lot of the dispute has raged. The re-structuring phase of the Faculty will now continue until January 2011.
Further details will be posted on leedsstudent.org when they are released.
