Leeds Student shortlisted for prestigious Guardian Media Awards

Leeds Student newspaper has been shortlisted for Publication of the Year at the annual Guardian Student Media Awards.

The newspaper also made the shortlist for the  Student Website of the Year Award. Despite facing strong competition from, among others, Oxford and York, Leeds Student is the only publication in the running to be shortlisted for prizes in both print and digital media.
The top prize was last won by the Leeds Student in 2009, under the editorship of Laurie Whitwell.
The Guardian Student Media Awards are judged by a panel of established journalists and editors.
One of Leeds Student’s writers, Oliver Duggan, has also been shortlisted for best Student columnist.
The results will be announced during a ceremony held on November 7th.
