Leeds Student Wins O2 Media Award
Leeds Student has beaten off fierce competition to nab an O2 Media Award.
Nominated for Specialist Publication of the Year, the free student paper pipped to the post regional giants the Yorkshire Post and the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.
Former Editor Lizzie Edmonds said winning the prize was a “huge honour.”
Reflecting on her tenure she added that though the paper had got into “a fair bit of trouble”, winning the award made it worth it.
Edmonds thanked her team, saying: “We wouldn’t have won without the team’s hard work and dedication bringing the best possible content to our audience.”
This is the first award that the newspaper has won since 2009 when it was named as Guardian Student Newspaper of the Year.
