Leeds student wins ‘Come dine with me’
If you ever needed the credentials of our university confirmed, fear not, for the University of Leeds has produced another minor celebrity.
A Law student has won an episode of Come Dine With Me, beating four other competitors to the prize.
Henry Trevelyan Thomas, a third year Law and Management student, applied to the Channel 4 show because he “thought it would be hilarious” but went on to nab the £1000 cash prize.
Henry told Leeds Student that his experience of the show was overwhelmingly positive, saying it was “categorically the funniest week of my life”. Clearly someone who can deal with the heat of the kitchen, Henry added that filming was made all the more exciting because he was sitting his exams the following week.
“The other contestants were all hilarious…one was a cougar. All in all it was a great week with no arguments but many a drunken evening.” The wild dinner parties even led to nudity.
Henry TT takes his place amongst the numerous undergraduates to have made their mark, including Man vs Booze, Char Char Bridgewatarr of E4′s Sorority Girls and the underwear-clad Equestrian Society.
The episode was aired on Channel 4 on Friday 29 and is available to watch on 4od.
