Award nomination double for Leeds Student

Only weeks after being nominated for an Online Media Award, Leeds Student has been selected as one of the best newspapers in Yorkshire.

Nominated for “Specialist Publication of the Year” at the O2 Yorkshire and Humber Media Awards your student paper is up against the Yorkshire Post (for their specialist Olympic games coverage) and the Bradford Telegraph and Argus (for some of their Jubilee coverage) for the prestigious gong.

Outgoing Leeds Student Editor, Lizzie Edmonds said,

“It is fantastic that the team’s hard work has been recognised professionally for a second time. There’s certainly been some ups and downs throughout the year but this definitely makes up for the low points.”

Nicola Green, Head of Communications and Reputation at O2 said,

“Once again judges were impressed by the standard of entries, which demonstrated superbly the important role the regional media plays within our communities.”

The awards ceremony will take place in Leeds in July.
