Parents of Adam Dixon, the Leeds Met student who was found dead at Beckett Park Halls in the early hours of Sunday morning, have spoken out about their tragic loss.
In a statement, his parents, Dave and Tracey, said: “Adam was a wonderful son and brother, who we were extremely proud of. He touched the lives of all the people he met.
“We are absolutely devastated by our loss, and would ask that we be left to grieve in peace at this extremely sad time.”
Their statement comes only hours after a 22-year-old man from Headingley was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs following his death.
A post mortem examination took place on Sunday and Police are currently awaiting the results of a toxicology test. A full inquest into his death will open later this week.
Leeds Metropolitan University have also paid tribute to Adam Dixon, a first year Multimedia technology student saying he was “a very popular student and will be greatly missed.”
They continued “We are offering support to students who have been affected by Adam’s death and we are working with the police and the coroner’s office whilst they conduct their investigations.”
