10 Attacks Overnight

A masked gang attacked 10 young people last night, with a number of victims needing hospital treatment.

The attacks were brutal, unprovoked, some involved the use of weapons with victims of those that didn’t reportedly being told by the police they were “lucky” they hadn’t.

A father of one victim who was attacked outside Montague Burton Halls of Residence has contacted the Leeds Student this morning saying…

They were attacked by a gang of 20, who police say attacked 8/9 other students last night as well within the space of half an hour, and the same gang believed to be carrying out a string of attacks on Leeds students in recent weeks.

He has also said he doesn’t want his son to come back to Leeds.

Hear his son going through what happened to him…

Another victim’s parent has told us…

He was smashed in his head from behind, knocked to the floor and stamped and kicked all over his body, including his head.

And asked…

Is this what Parents can expect for their children when they go to University in Leeds, that they are to run a gauntlett to and from their accommodation?

This comes weeks after Leeds Student reported on a spate of attacks by gangs on students over Bonfire Weekend and Leeds University claiming to have increased security around halls of residences.
