There’s been the chat bar, video chat and, most recently, the introduction ‘top stories’ and a ‘following’ feature (just like you would on another major social network). However, Facebook’s quest for total online domination seems to only just be getting started.
Last Friday, Jesse Eisenberg lookalike Mark Zuckerberg announced arguably the biggest change in Facebook’s history. Say goodbye to your profile and hello to your ‘timeline’: a continuous list of all the major events in your life since you first joined Facebook (see image) You can choose to hide or feature individual events and select a photo of you to be your ‘cover image’, a giant photo displayed at the top of your timeline.
Other changes rolling out in the next few weeks are the ability to see who has removed you as a friend and bigger integration with services such as Spotify and The Guardian, so now the fact you constantly listen to ‘One Direction’ will no longer be your little secret, sorry.
