Renowned throughout the country as the nation’s best small venue, and you can confirm that with any band we interview here, The Brudenell Social Club is owed a lot for bringing some of the most sought after ‘under and overground’ bands to Leeds. It has also recently been voted ‘officially’ as the NME best small venue in Yorkshire and the North-east. There are shows on almost everyday and even when there’s not you can satisfy your thirst with a pint of Green Label ale costing merely £1.80!
The venue is an old gentleman’s social and recreational club as the name would suggest and it still holds this character as you enter with an gig room on the left and social and games/pool rooms on the right – all three featuring bars. Don’t worry women are allowed in as well! The main room , which plays host to a wide selection of bands throughout the year as well as the occasional film screening, boasts a large stage featuring the infamous ‘Welcome to the Brudenell’ sign.
Here’s a video from Adult Jazz playing the Brudenell Social Club:
The venue is for people who really enjoy their music or are keen to listen to new bands and artists, not so much for those lost after an exhausted fourth Otley run. If you want to keep up-to-date with the Brudenell then join them on facebook!
