All aboard the indie-pop express. The following train will be stopping at fun, excitement and twee. Indietracks is a three day festival taking place from the 29th to the 31st of July in Derbyshire premiering the biggest names and the hottest upcoming acts in indie-pop. If you think that Belle & Sebastian is entry level twee-pop, regard the C86 as a house-hold name or bleed strawberry jam when you graze your knee then this is the festival for you.
As the name suggests Indietracks is a festival with the unusual, and highly satisfying, gimmick of being held in and around a countryside railway station. With this year’s line-up headed by Jeffrey Lewis and Edwyn Collins – of Orange Juice fame – and supplemented by indie-pop darlings such as Butcher Boy, Maths and Physics Club, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names and Help Stamp Out Loneliness you’d be loco(-motive) to miss it.
