Feature: Previews
We’ve all been there – back in your student abode after the Christmas party season, staring woefully at a desk submerged under university work. Kicking yourself for ignoring the exams for so long, you sigh, wrench the lid off your fourth Redbull and curse the day Mark Zuckerberg even had an inkling to put the words ‘face’ and ‘book’ together.
It all seems so long ago now, doesn’t it?
Well, whether you’re celebrating success or drinking to forget, its time to get reacquainted with the Leeds club scene. Lets have a look at whats in store in the next two weeks.
29th January
Modern Amusement with Modeselektor
Modeselektor have made only one previous Leeds appearance in a career that has spanned a decade, so this is a rare treat for fans of the genre-defying live act. As musicians they create practically every sound and sample employed in their critically acclaimed, multi-layered performances, something few electronic artists today can lay claim to. An intriguing experimental journey awaits, with support from Fabric favourites Tyrant, man of the moment Joy Orbison and Jozif of Wolf + Lamb fame.

System 3rd Birthday
Some of you will already be sold by the mere mention of ‘System’ – a brand now synonymous with bringing down right dirty techno to the collective doorstep of Leeds students. In three years they have grown from free garden parties into providers of some of the wildest nights Mint has ever held beneath its seizure inducing ceiling. With heavy-weight Cocoon resident Frank Lorber in town just for the occasion, and Martin Buttrich and Sis providing the icing on the cake, expect things to get a little out of hand for this night of raw resonance.
