NME Awards Tour 2011

Love it or loathe it, the NME Awards Tour does  great job of giving you more for your money. This year’s tour sees a diverse line-up touring the various venues across the county for less than twenty of your fine English pounds.

Once the stronghold of only the most popular indie bands, this year’s Tour reflects the increasingly eclectic tastes of NME readers and features The Vaccines, Everything Everything, Magnetic Man. Crystal Castles will be headlining, and if Alice Glass’s previous stage antics are anything to go by the final set alone will be worth the ticket price.

Ethan Kath (Crystal Castles) on heading the bill: “We’re looking forward to it, yeah. We’ve done the Radar tour before [in 2008], so this one will be like a step up for us, especially because we’re headlining. I’m a really big fan of Magnetic Man, so I’m looking forward to seeing them every night.”

The NME Awards Tour has always seen great energy from the crowd, as well as wonderful camaraderie between bands, and this year looks to be even more fun than previous years.

NME Awards Tour hit Leeds O2 Academy on Wednesday 9th February. The Norwich and Cardiff date have already sold out, so be sure to get your filthy hands on a pair of tickets, or two.
